Discover God’s Love & Grace To Motivate You Daily

There is no such thing as a great man of God, only weak, pitiful, faithless men of a great and merciful God.

Paul David Washer

What a dead man can do? Apparently, nothing! What a bunch of dead men can do? Also, nothing. Definitely, a dead man cannot help neither himself, nor his dead friend. A dead man has no pity, no regret, no compassion. What was in the past is long time gone now. And the future will never come. So, the only what has left is the mephitic and silent presence. And the only what he can do therein is to remain dead…

Now, just look around. What do you see? As a true Christian, as a man with a new heart and a new spirit, you should see that there are millions and millions of dead men around you.

They build the cities, they raise the nations, they establishing new empires. They rule over with the law and judge their judgement with justice. And yet they are dead and know nothing (Ecclesiastes 9:5).

This world remains in the state of total depravity. The hundreds of nations live in complete denial to God, His commandments and His authority. Yet, they established their own sovereignty. The sovereignty of a wicked, sinful, faithless, and dead men.

Unfortunately, the Church is no better. The Christianity have been dispersed, diluted and absorbed by the filthiness of the world they so love! They act like the world, they think like the world, they dress like the world, they smell like the world, they like what this dead world likes… They, too, are dead.

The Church has forgotten her first love (Revelation 2:4), she went on whoring after other gods (Judges 2:17).

Scripture

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. // Ezekiel 36:26 KJV

Observation

If humanity would be dependent on its own works and merits it would be gone a long time ago. In like manner, a dead man can do nothing, this fallen world cannot save itself. Thus, without Savior it is doomed and condemned to remain dead throughout the eternity.

Although Christianity profess the faith in Jesus Christ, we saved by grace through faith, “… and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

In essence, we have nothing to do with our salvation, but to work it out with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you, the author and finisher of faith (Philippians 2:12, Hebrews 12:2).

Surly, we are damned to reside in the corrupt flesh of Adam and Eve. But, a great and merciful God, took away the stony heart and replaced it with the heart of flesh. Also, He put the Spirit to dwell within us. God has sanctified us.

Therefore, the flesh of an old dead man remains in the constant fight with the new Spirit of a new man. If you love this world, you will die. But, if you love God, you must let go of the world that the old dead man loves (Romans 8:13).

Application

This is the time for your journaling. Reflect on these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit to test your faith and your walk with Christ.

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? — 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV
  1. Are you a dead or alive man?
  2. Do you love this world or do you love God?
  3. Do you do anything to let go of the world?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we glorify you Mighty Name, Lord God!

We thank You, Lord, for the new heart of flesh and the new spirit what you have put within us. Thank You, Jesus Christ, for the gift of salvation and for the faith what you have given us.

We pray, that the Holy Spirit will help us to fight the fleshly lusts and desires of this world. We pray that you will make us to live according to the Spirit, and not according to the flesh.

All these we pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, Amen.
