And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
Fear to Fall
When you doubt the mercies of God, reflect on this fear not verse. God knows that man is a fallen creature and by his own power, he cannot avoid temptations and sins. We always fall into sin if we rely on our abilities. That is why Jesus said before He left that He will not abandon His followers, thus Lord Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to guide us. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit enables us to genuinely repent from our sins, fight temptations, strengthen our faith in our Saviour Jesus Christ and follow the will of the Father.
For that reason, do not fear to go back in serving God when you fall. Rather, repent from whatever shortcomings or sins we have done and ask the Holy Spirit to reprove and discipline us. Pursuing the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ is not easy but it is light because of the help of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
O, merciful Father, we ask for your forgiveness for the things we say, think or do that is not pleasing to you. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continuously reprove us and show us our sins that we may confess them to you and repent from them. Thank you for your Son who saved us and granted us eternal life with Him. In Jesus’ saving name, Amen.
