Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Fear for Peace in the World
Peace be with you. That was the greeting in my previous workplace. From answering the phone to opening meetings or seminars, we greet everyone with the peace of Christ. One of the patron saints of the hospital I worked for before, was the Apostle Paul. And if you have read the New Testament, you will know that Paul always opens his epistle greeting the readers with peace be with you. Although I have not felt the gravity of this greeting until I got saved. The Holy Spirit has taught me what the true meaning of peace is. And it is not how the world portrays it. In a worldly sense, peace is when there is no war; when there is no chaos at home, or even in the workplace.
However, the scriptures go beyond that, explaining that true and genuine peace is what we can find when we repent from our sins and submit our lives in serving our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This peace does not go away even when there is war, chaos or tribulations. Moreover, it is a peace that is brought about by grace from our Heavenly Father, through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
Almighty God, holy is your name. We are grateful for the peace you have bestowed upon us through Jesus Christ. Thank you for giving us this peace that the world cannot offer. A peace that gives us hope when situations are hopeless and chaotic. May the Holy Spirit guide us as we journey in life to reach the Celestial City. Looking forward to singing praises and worshiping you for all eternity. These we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
