And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
Fear to Give Up
All people have motivations for what they do. Oftentimes our motivations are our loved ones or other personal things. When faced with challenges, the fear we fronted makes us think of whether to continue or to give up. That is when we have to rethink the motivations that urged us to do the things we do in the first place.
When I was in university, one of my motivations to finish my degree was my parents. I wanted them to be proud and make all their sacrifices worthwhile. But to be honest, there were times that I want to give up and change course. However, through God’s grace, I was able to finish my profession. Furthermore, God had placed it in my heart to obey my parents and to make them proud. It was never easy but it was always very much worth it. Therefore, when you are stuck, when you are afraid of what lies ahead and overwhelmed with the sense to give up remember who keeps you going.
Let not the hardships that you face every day make you give up. Remember that we have a God that never abandons His children in need. Moreover, recall who you are fighting for.
Prayer
Our Father in heaven, we ask for courageous hearts. Bless us, Lord, with strength that can surpass the trials we face. Guide us, Holy Spirit, in our battles; for we know we do not wrestle with the physical struggles but with the spiritual ones. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for giving us directions on how to live our life. May we be able to follow your ways through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We pray in your saving name, Amen.
