Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Fear of being Unjustified
The fifth chapter of Romans is titled Peace with God and it describes how we have peace with God through His Son Jesus Christ. What struck me the most is what is stated in verse 3, Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, (ESV). Oh! How magnificent it is to know that in our tribulations when we are in the depths of fear, we can still rejoice knowing that the God of peace is at work in our lives. But it is a hard task though because it is difficult to rejoice when one is in the middle of the storm. When we are amid trials, that is the time, we are more vulnerable. Our human brains want to gain control of what is going on, but when we are believers and followers of Christ we are called to surrender to the Saviour for guidance and saving.
That is why it is important for us to daily practice submitting ourselves to the word of God. Not letting our old self win over the new man. As C.S. Lewis wrote in his book Mere Christianity, Christianity is an education itself. Our faith in Christ teaches us how to be like Him, whether we are in the middle of trials or the calm before the storm.
Prayer
Dear Lord, teach us to follow your ways. May the Holy Spirit lead our daily way until we see you again. Our Father, thank you for never abandoning us despite our sinfulness. You have given us peace that truly surpasses any human understanding. May that peace encourage, reprove and guide us in our daily lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
