Praise God for all whom blessings flow, praise Him, all creatures here below, praise Him above, ye heavenly host! Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
– Thomas Ken.
The book of Psalm is filled with hymns that give praise and honour to God and His sovereignty. The Psalmists, no matter what the emotion is, give praise to the King of kings and Lord of lords. This attitude should also be in each one of us.
Bible Reading
Today’s devotional reading is from the Book of Psalm 65:1. Please, read our recent devotional from the Letter of Paul to The Ephesians 2:19: What Is The Citizenship Eligibility In Heaven?
Praise the King, who Created us
God, our Creator, should receive our praises, for He is our King. In the entire history of men, He has not changed but continuously gave us His provisions and guidance. Despite the constant disobedience of men. The writer of Psalm 65, started the chapter by stating, Praise is due to you, O God. These words were said not as a suggestion but as a fact.
Praise the King, who Saved us
Praise the King, who saved mankind. After the creation and fall of men, God did not His expression of love for His people. He, then, sent His Only Begotten Son to save all of us. It is written, through him (Jesus) then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name (Hebrews 13:15).
Therefore, let us use every opportunity we have to give praise and thanksgiving to the Father and the Son, who has created and saved us all.
Reflection
This is the time for your journaling. Reflect on these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit to test your faith and your walk with Christ.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? — 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV.
- Do you praise the King in everything you do?
- Have you offered praise to God through Jesus Christ? Accept Jesus Now.
- How do you praise God?
- What are the ways you encourage others to praise Jesus?

Prayer
Jesus, I want to be like You who obeyed the Father without complaint. You embraced the chains of humanity when You walked this earth. Convict me whenever I complain or compare myself with others. Give me Your attitude of humility and thankful acceptance. I want to be like the Apostle Paul who learned contentment in every circumstance. And I choose to continually offer You a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that give praise to Your name (Hebrews 13:15). I long to bring a smile to Your face. Teach me the power of a thankful heart. I know that Your truth dwells in a thankful heart. All these we pray in Jesus’ powerful name. Amen.
