The Light of the world is Jesus Christ. And we can be an extension of His light to others when we live our lives following His steps. However, this is polluted with human thinking that we can be our own light if we just look within us. That is very wrong. For if we look within ourselves, all we will see is darkness, because we are all sinful. We need the Holy Spirit to provide light within us.

The light of the Lord that will forever shine
Revelation 22 starts with the angel showing John the river of life flowing from the throne of God and how the citizens of heaven will see the face of God. The emphasis is there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. Imagine that day, when the only source of light will be the Lord God. Moreover, there will be no darkness and anything accursed. And as the Father’s adopted children we will be with Him forever and ever.
Be a vessel of the light of the Lord God
Charles Spurgeon said the Bible is not the light of the world, it is the light of the Church. But the world does not read the Bible, the world Christians! You are the light of the world. Therefore, let us fill our minds and hearts with God’s word and be the vessel of the light of the Lord God. Share God’s words to others, that they too will be instruments of the light of God. Let us live out our lives under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Remember what Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12).

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we adore Your glorious name. We ask for your mercy for the times we have strayed away from You. For we have gone on our own way following what is evil on Your sight. We surrender all our sins at the foot of Jesus’ cross. May the precious blood of Christ wash away our sins.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your sacrifice on our behalf. We know that we do not deserve it, yet because of Your great love, You have redeemed us. We pray that the Holy Spirit will be with us to direct and guide us in the path that leads to You.
All these we pray in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
