My most cherished possession I wish I could leave you is my faith in Jesus Christ, for with Him and nothing else you can be happy, but without Him and with all else you’ll never be happy.
Patrick Henry – Founding Father of the United States.
Trust is something everybody wants from everyone. But sometimes we do stupid things that make us not worthy of the trust given to us. Jesus Christ is the only constant being that we can place our trust that will never fail us.
Bible Reading
Today’s devotional reading is from the Book of Isaiah 26:3-4. Please, read our recent devotional from the Gospel according to Matthew 5:3: Who Are The Poor In Spirt?
Perfect peace, Immanuel the Lord in whom we trust
Isaiah wrote that whosoever, keep their faith and trust in the Lord, He keeps them in perfect peace. And we also read that those who do not trust in Him do not have everlasting peace. Moreover, the author of Proverbs wrote, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Jesus Christ, our Lord, is the source of all good things you can think. However, it is not what the worldly good things. It is more than that.
Trust in the Lord with all your might
Trusting in the Lord with all our might is one of the factors for us to live our lives more in the spirit and not worldly. It is written, submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Resisting temptations and overcoming challenges only happen if we place our trust in Jesus. The flesh cannot fight the spirit (evil), only the Holy Spirit can defend us on this. And the Holy Spirit comes to our aid when we submit and trust Him.
Reflection
This is the time for your journaling. Reflect on these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit to test your faith and your walk with Christ.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? — 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV.

Prayer
Lord, I thank You that You are the God of the impossible. You can do anything. I want to trust in Your ability and not my own. Teach me to see difficulties in my life from Your perspective. Help me to focus on You and Your power. I want to be like Joshua and Caleb who believed in a good report and focused on You even in hard circumstances (Numbers 14:7-9). My responsibility is to carefully read, trust, and obey Your Word. Today I bring before You this difficulty in my life (name a hard situation you are right now facing). Help me not to fear but to trust You in this situation. I declare my faith in Your ability to fulfill Your promises to me. You will fight for me and win the battles in my life. You are mighty, powerful, righteous and true.
All these we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
