Jesus burns with the desire to come into your heart… don’t listen to the demon, laugh at him and go without fear to receive the Jesus of peace and love.
– Therese Lisieux
What is your greatest desire in life? Successful career? Travel the world? Every day I am in awe of the desire of Jesus for us. The saving grace of God through Jesus Christ is sometimes beyond my understanding. I cannot comprehend why wicked people are loved by the Father, desired by the Son through the Holy Spirit to have fellowship with. Christians are blessed to have the Holy Spirit to guide us always. Moreover, we know that at the end of all the hardships of life, we will be united eternally with the Triune God.
Bible Reading

Jesus’ Desires Eternal Life For Us
For those who do not believe in Jesus Christ, death is their final destination. Further, they believe that when one dies, existence ceases. They have an evolutionary worldview. Believers of Christ do not desire death, but we know that it is an inevitable stage of life.
Jesus, in His prayer, expressed His desire for the people whom God has given Him. The passage may be with me where I am, which means that Jesus desires for us to be with Him in heaven. This scripture knits together with what Peter said, the Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
In order for a person to be in heaven, one must also desire Jesus. A person must repent from one’s sins, believe in Jesus and live his or her life in continuous desire to walk with the Holy Spirit. Once you reach this, you are living in a piece of heaven on earth.
Let us desire to have eternal life with Jesus. May our desire for Him encourages us to walk in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Moreover, may our life be an invitation for others to desire Jesus as well.
Reflection
This is the time for your journaling. Reflect on these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit to test your faith and your walk with Christ.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? — 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, glory is your name. Grant us Lord to have a penitent heart and a desire to do what is holy and right in your eyes. Thank you for giving us your Son, Jesus Christ, as the manifestation of your love for us. O Lord, Jesus, teach us how to desire communion with the Father. May the Holy Spirit guide us as we journey every day towards you.
All these we ask in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
