When we have the Holy Spirit we have all that is needed to be all that God desires us to be.
– A.W. Tozer
The old me was a very different person from who I am now. I was controlling, demanding, proud, etc. Moreover, I thought I was good when in reality I was not, not even the faintest. Thank God, Jesus saved me and I realized how filthy I am (Isaiah 64:6) and that my good works do not account really as good (Romans 3:10, Ephesians 2:8-9). I was living a different standard – the standards of the world. And the Holy Spirit has and been giving me reeducation on what is the criteria we should be living – the Law of God.
Bible Reading
Today’s devotional reading is from the Book of Esther 3:8. Please, read our recent devotional from the Book of Esther 3:6: How Hard Is The Hardships Of Life?
Worldly Ways
I do not say that all worldly rules do not lead us to God. In reality, most of it is based on the Bible – the Word of God. Unfortunately, people have fallen far away from Jesus that they do not acknowledge what He has done for us.
People’s comprehension of moral issues becomes more perverted as years pass. New generations fall farther away from God if left alone with their devices. And older generations forgot what they have learned and turn their back on God.
The Sad Truth
Most of us have lived this way. And the only one who saved us is the same person people turn their backs on. People think of Jesus’ commandments as a buffet. They only pick what they want. Additionally, they only choose the teaching that they think will benefit them and disregarding the other contexts.
Genuine Christians live out God’s commandments through following Jesus’ ways as directed by the Holy Spirit. And we will only know Jesus’ ways if we read the Bible.
Reflection
This is the time for your journaling. Reflect on these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit to test your faith and your walk with Christ.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? — 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV

- What about your similarities with them?
- Do you believe that every person has the Holy Spirit?

Prayer
Our Father, who is in heaven and whose name is the holiest among holies. Thank you for your love for us. As evidenced by your Son Jesus Christ who is our saviour and redeemer. O Lord, you have not abandoned us to the evil ones and sent the Holy Spirit to change us and make us new persons.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and stir our hearts to be seeking things that please the Father. Help us to turn from our earthly desires and turn to do acts that are holy. We pray these in the holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
