Fear Not Verse of the Day – Psalm 49:16 – Fear of the Rich

Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

Fear of the Rich

Rockefeller, Rothschild, Gates, and Musk. Some of the richest and most famous families in the western world. Lots of people want to be in their circle. While others fear these rich people. They can pretty much do anything they want with the amount of money, power and influence they have. Conspiracy theorists can go into detail about it. But that is just the point of what I started, they can do anything they want on earth. Their money does not give them salvation. The last time I check, none of these families believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Same as us, they will have to face God on judgement day. And, unfortunately for them, none of their riches can redeem them from the judgement nor they can carry anything with them when they pass on (v.17).

Let us not be afraid of the evil ways of the rich or even any people who walk in darkness. Rather focus on Jesus Christ who can save you from the evil of this world and eternal damnation.

Almighty Father, hear us your children. We beseech you, to guide us in everything we do. May our walk with your Son, Jesus Christ, bring fruits that please you. Grant us the courage to not fear the rich or people in power doing evil for we know that you are always in control. All these we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Born and raised in a catholic family, I learned about God at an early age. I also studied in catholic schools which means I get to study the catholic traditions, practices and saints (deities). I grew up knowing God, Jesus, Mary and the saints and praying or venerating them. At a young age, I would regularly attend mass, pray devotionals to different saints and pray the rosary, which I thought were essentials to show one’s love and honour to God. But often times, I would still feel empty and uncertain of what lies ahead. I started reading the bible when I started to date my husband, with the purpose to show him that I can defend catholic teachings. But the more I study the scriptures the more I have questions about what I thought I know about my faith. It was in the year 2016 at the age of 27, I was born again. I cannot cite the exact date of my conversion as it happened in subtle manner. I know Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, guides me in studying God’s word to know the truth about Him.
